Businesses Readers Are Raving About

Want to brag about the businesses you fell in love with in 2012? It's not too late to comment in the article below!

Readers showed their favorite businesses some love on Patch recently after we asked, Which New Business Did You Fall in Love with in 2012? Taco Diablo in Evanston received three shout-outs. Patch user Kathleen Tribble-Strong commented that the Mexican restaurant was a pleasant surprise.  “I went there with one of my co-teachers and then took my grown kids there for lunch the next day,” Tribble-Strong wrote. Great food and really wonderful AND personable staff. Plan to go back with more friends and family.”  Patch user Harvey Newcomb and Mayre Press both say the restaurant is a great additions to Davis Street.  “Great food in cool surroundings. 25 New Businesses Open in Lake Forest in the Past 20 Months

New businesses include a photography studio, restaurants and retail stores.

This has been a record year for small businesses in Lake Forest, according to Susan Kelsey, Lake Forest’s economic development coordinator. “In the past 20 months, 25 businesses have opened in Lake Forest. The remaining are opening up before the end of this year and early next year." "The city has been streamlining the process for new businesses and we hope that is one reason they are opening so fast,” Kelsey said. Bloom & Focus, Kerri Sherman’s photography studio and gallery, is one of Lake Forest’s newest businesses, opened on October 11. My husband brought is business to Lake Forest almost a year ago. He called the city of Lake Forest to introduce himself, but no one called him back or welcomed him. I will introduce him: Richard Kral with Kenilworth Steel at 920 S. Waukegan Road. I am a life time resident of Lake Forest, & I was very disappointed that no one could bother to welcome Richard or his business to Lake Forest.   more ›
