Lake Forest Resident was Devoted to Protecting Nature, Open Land
Deborah Williams MacKenzie is dead at age 74.
A former past president of Lake Forest Open Lands, Deborah Williams MacKenzie devoted much of her time to protecting nature and open spaces as part of her passion for the outdoors. The Lake Forest resident passed away May 11 at the age of 74. She also sat on the Illinois and Wyoming Nature Conservancy Boards, the National Parks and Conservation Board, the Lake Forest Garden Club, and was a member of the Garden Club of America. She was also active with the National Society of Colonial Dames of America, the Captiva Island Historical Board, a trustee of the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, Conn., the Contemporary Club of Chicago, and the First Presbyterian Church of Lake Forest.
