Injury Accident Two people were taken to Lake Forest Hospital May 12 when two vehicles including a semi tractor trailer crashed on Highway 41 near West Washington Street, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Both the Knollwood and North Chicago Fire Departments responded. The semi overturned.. DUI Lawrence Imhoff, 57, of Fox Lake was arrested May 12 for driving under the influence of alcohol and speeding, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Police clocked Imhoff driving 67 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone on Sheridan Road near Shoreacres Road, according to the report. Karlene Lesh of Barrington Hills was arrested Sunday for driving under the influence of alcohol, fleeing and eluding and improper stopping after a high speed chase on the Tri-State Tollway, according to Bannockburn Police reports. Police first encountered Lesh as she was stopped in her vehicle in an eastbound lane on Half Day Road near Lakeside Drive, according to the report. After stopping her, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol on her breath. When the officer asked her to step out of the automobile, she “put her car in drive and took off,” entering the Tollway. DUI Lukasz Klis, 24, of Harwood Heights was arrested April 26 for driving under the influence of alcohol, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Police received a call from an ambulance driver a towel was thrown from the window of a vehicle driving northbound on Highway 41 toward the north village limits, according to the report. When police found and stopped the vehicle, they smelled a strong odor of alcohol coming from the driver, Klis. DUI Julie Olnas, 24, of Lake Bluff was arrested Friday for driving under the influence of alcohol, disobeying a traffic control device and driving with one headlight, according to Bannockburn Police reports. Police observed Olnas in the left turn lane of Half Day Road making a southbound turn onto Waukegan Road “completely over the while stop line,” according to the report. She disobeyed the red turn arrow and was seen weaving in her lane. Olnas failed field sobriety tests and had a blood alcohol level of .138, according to the report. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. May 8 in Waukegan. Byron Smith, 53, of Lake Forest was arrested March 22 for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to Deerfield Police reports. After receiving a call about an intoxicated driver, police located Smith driving northbound on Waukegan Road south of Deerfield High School, according to the report. Police observed Smith driving below the posted 35-mile-per-hour speed limited and weaving within his lane. Once Police stopped Smith, a strong odor of alcohol was noticed. He refused field sobriety tests and a breath test telling police to “just arrest” him, according to the report. Driver’s License Infractions Jacqueline Gallagher, 25, of Round Lake Heights was arrested Feb. 25 on a felony charge of driving with a revoked license and disobeying a stop sign, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Gallagher was spotted driving through the stop sign at the intersection of Scranton and Center, according to the report. An investigation revealed her driver’s license was revoked. If a driver does that too many times, it is a felony. Oscar Castillo-Brena, 45, of Zion was arrested Feb. 24 for driving without a valid driver’s license and speeding, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Injury Accident A driver was injured Jan. 23 when the person lost control of the car being driven in snowy conditions while heading southbound on Highway 41 south of Highway 176, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. According to the report, the driver lost control of the car, slid off the roadway and hit an embankment causing the injury. Police did not know the extent of the injury. DUI Gerald Roland, 62, of North Chicago, a fugitive wanted for failure to appear in court, was arrested for driving under the influence and driving with one headlight Wednesday, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Police spotted Roland driving with only one headlight illuminated on Sheridan Road near Blodgett, according to the report. After stopping him, the investigation led to an arrest for driving under the influence. An investigation also revealed Roland was wanted on a warrant for failure to appear in court. Automobile Crash One person was hospitalized as the result of a three-car collision Jan. 15 at intersection of Route 176 and Waukegan Road, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. After two cars traveling west on Highway 176 stopped at the traffic light at Waukegan Road, a third car drove into the second vehicle causing the three-car crash, according to the report. Kathy Walsh, 46, of Lake Forest was arrested Saturday for driving under the influence of alcohol and improper lane usage, according to Bannockburn Police Reports. Police observed Walsh driving east on Half Day Road from just west of the intersection of Waukegan Road to nearly the intersection of Highway 41 in Highland Park, according to the report. During that time, Walsh both drifted within her lane and between lanes while varying speeds and almost hitting curbs. After stopping Walsh near Highway 41, police noticed a strong odor of alcohol coming from both the car and her breath. She failed field sobriety tests and refused to take a breath test. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 9 a.m. Feb. 13 in Waukegan.
