CROYA will conduct several programs this week to assist Lake Forest and Lake Bluff youth in response to three teen deaths since Jan. 9. In less than three months, Lake Forest High School students Edward Schutt, Will Laskero-Tesocki and Farid Hussain have been struck and killed by a train. To date, only Hussain's cause of death has been ruled a suicide by the Lake County Coroner's office. Starting Monday (April 2), social workers and CROYA staff will be available at Lake Forest High School students during the school day. For information, contact CROYA at (847) 615-4304.

Five pastors in the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff area have created an adult forum in response to the string of three teen deaths from 7-9 p.m. Tuesday (April 3) at the Gorton Community Center, 400 E. Illinois Road, in Lake Forest. In less than three months, Lake Forest High School students Edward Schutt, Will Laskero-Tesocki and Farid Hussain have been struck and killed by a train. The Schutts were planning to give their son, Edward, a chance to experience sky diving. Described as adventuresome, this would have been the 18-year-old’s chance to soar. Instead, the Lake Forest-Lake Bluff community attended its third memorial service in less than three months Tuesday afternoon after Edward Schutt was found dead Sunday morning near the railroad tracks in the 700 block of South Sheridan Road and just blocks from his family’s home. Lake Forest High School senior to be remembered.
A memorial service for Lake Forest High School senior Edward Schutt will be held at 4:15 p.m today (March 27) at the First Presbyterian Church in Lake Forest. A reception will be held after at Glen Rowan House from 5:30-7 p.m. on the Lake Forest College campus. Schutt, 18, was struck and killed by a southbound Union Pacific train in the early morning hours Sunday in the 700 block of Sheridan Road across from the Fort Sheridan Cemetery.

I am so sorry to hear of the tragic deaths. The youth do need a voice and to know people care and they should find someone to talk to before they consider ending their life. Speak out and find someone to turn to, look around there are people all around who care about you.
