Theft Scott Dunson, 37, of Waukegan, was arrested March 29 for theft, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Dunson is accused of taking items from a home in the 12000 block of Meadow Circle. He was released on bond and appeared in Lake County Court Friday in Waukegan. Driver’s License Infractions German Garcia, 26, of Beach Park was arrested April 1 for driving without a valid license and speeding, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Police clocked Garcia driving 53 miles per hour in a 40-mile-per-hour zone on Sheridan Road near Crabtree Lane. During the investigation, police learned he did not have a valid license. Driver’s License Infraction Marisol Gonzalez, 38, of Gurnee was arrested Tuesday for driving without a valid license, failure to reduce speed to avoid an accident and driving an uninsured motor vehicle, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. After police were called to investigate an automobile crash near the intersection of Waukegan Road and Highway 176 in which Gonzalez was involved, it was discovered she did not have a license, according to the report. No one was injured in the incident. She was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. May 7 in Park City. Accident Assistance Police came to the aid of a person who drove off Waukegan Road near North Shore Drive and became stuck in the mud Tuesday, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. The driver told police a rock hit the windshield causing the person to drive off the road, hit the curb and get stuck in the mud. The car had to be towed. The person was not injured. Driver’s License Infractions Emir Samajlovic, 19, of Prospect Heights was arrested Tuesday for driving with a suspended license and speeding, according to Lake Bluff police reports. Driver’s License Infractions Adan Castrogon-Garcia, 64, of North Chicago was arrested Wednesday for driving without a valid driver’s license and failure to signal a turn when required, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. When police stopped Castrogon-Garcia for failing to signal for a right turn at the intersection of Waukegan Road and Albrecht, he said he needed directions, according to report. After checking further, police learned he did not have a license. He was released on bond and will appear in Lake County Court at 10:30 a.m. April 2. Lake Bluff Police Department offers suggestions to residents to avoid being theft victims.
Windows were smashed on two cars at the Lake Bluff train station parking lot and items taken Thursday prompting Deputy Police Chief David Belmonte to offer suggestions to reduce the chances of car burglaries. According to a news release from the Lake Bluff Police Department, officers received a call at 8:45 a.m. Thursday that two vehicles parked at the train station had smashed windows on the drivers’ side. Driver’s License Infractions Jacqueline Gallagher, 25, of Round Lake Heights was arrested Feb. 25 on a felony charge of driving with a revoked license and disobeying a stop sign, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. Gallagher was spotted driving through the stop sign at the intersection of Scranton and Center, according to the report. An investigation revealed her driver’s license was revoked. If a driver does that too many times, it is a felony. At least five drivers pulled out of snow banks during recent storms.
What do you do in Lake Bluff when your car skids off the road and into a snow bank? Call the Police. “If we get a call from someone stuck in the snow we’re going to respond to the situation,” Lake Bluff Police Chief Bill Gallagher said. The police did a lot of that Tuesday. Officers responded to a car stuck in the snow near the West Scranton Bridge Tuesday, according to Lake Bluff Police reports. While that motorist was awaiting a tow truck, another vehicle got stuck and the officer helped push it out. Later in the day, a car was stuck on Woodbine Road and an officer waited with the driver until a tow truck arrived, according to the report.
