Next Wednesday, author Bob Spitz will participate in a luncheon at Authentico in Lake Forest. The event, sponsored by the Lake Forest Book Store, is just one part of a two part event that concludes at 6:30 that evening at Ela Area Public Library in Lake Zurich. The $35 price for the luncheon includes a copy of Spitz's new book, "Dearie: The Remarkable Life of Julia Child." This week, you can catch two authors at Lake Forest Book Store: Erin Cerello and Jennifer E. Smith. Smith, a Lake Forest High School alum, will be reading from and discussing her new novel, titled "This Is What Happiness Looks Like," on Tuesday at 7 p.m. The novel follows two 17-year-olds who begin an email correspondence that leads to the two of them meeting in real life. Cerello will be reading from "Learning to Stay," which centers on a woman as she attempts to adapt to her new relationship with her husband after he returns from serving in the military in Iraq with a traumatic brain injury. Lake Forest Book Store hosts former Lake Forest resident Dave Eggers who will sign his best seller, ‘Hologram for the King.”
Bestselling author and former Lake Forest resident Dave Eggers will sign copies of “Hologram for the King” from 11 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Lake Forest Book Store. “Hologram for the King” was a 2012 National Book Award finalist and was named one of the top ten books of last year by the New York Times Book Review. The book is the story of a businessman’s efforts to avoid foreclosure and pay his daughters college tuition by taking his family around the world and landing in a Saudi Arabian city, according to information provided by the Lake Forest book store.
