Update: Waukegan Police Officer Found Dead in Antioch Woods
Local media sources are reporting that Sgt. Peter Michaels was found dead.
Update: 1:25 p.m., Jan. 10 The person found dead in the woods in Antioch this morning was missing Waukegan police officer Sgt. Peter Michaels, according to the Waukegan News- Sun. Michaels, 44, had been missing since Tuesday. No foul play was suspected, according to the Chicago Tribune. The search this morning was joined by about 120 community members. Michaels was a resident of Tiffany Farms subdivision in Antioch, according to the News-Sun. 12:50 p.m., Jan. 10 Lake County Sheriff's Office Highway Patrol found a deceased body in a wooded area of north Antioch this morning, according to a news release from the Lake County Sheriff's Office.
