Lake Forest High School Dance Team Takes 1st at National Championship

Congratulations to the Lake Forest High School Varsity Pom Pons for their first place win at the National Dance Team Championship!

The Lake Forest High School Varsity Pom Pon squad wowed the nation at the 2013 National Dance Team Championship (NDTC), held Feb. 2-3 at Disney World in Orlando, Fl. The team placed first in the "Large Varsity Pom" category. The winning performance was broadcast on ESPN2 and can be viewed here. In addition, the team placed eighth in the "Large Varsity Jazz" category. Each year, more than 300 high school and all-star dance teams compete at the national championship, which has about 10,000 spectators in attendance. Lake Forest High School Dance Teams Snare Pair Of First Places

Varsity, junior varsity dominate downstate Elite Camp.

The Lake Forest High School varsity and junior varsity dance teams both recently collected first-place finishes at the Universal Dance Association Elite Camp in Bloomington, Ill. The Varsity Dance Team captured the First Place Home Routine in the Large Varsity Division, which qualifies the group for the National Dance Team Championship with their jazz performance to “I Was Born This Way”. In addition, the team won A routine full out award, B & C superior award - all blue ribbons, the Super Spirit stick on the second night and the spirit stick on all nights. Seniors Emily Johnson and Simone Stamelos tried out and made the all-star squad. Both the varsity and the junior varsity teams tied for the leadership award. Varsity is coached by …
