Lake Forest businessman steps in at the last second to prevent closure of Rose's Wheat Free Bakery and Cafe.
It appeared the last batch of baked goods were about to be sold at Rose’s Wheat Free Bakery and Café. The Evanston shop which features gluten-free items was set to close on Christmas Eve, but to the delight of owner Rose O’Carroll as well as her customers and employees, a last second investment thwarted a Scrooge-like close. Lake Forest resident and entrepreneur Marcus Lemonis stepped up at the last minute and invested $200,000 into O’Carroll’s struggling enterprise so the doors could remain open and the employees can keep their jobs, according to the Evanston Review.
