Fourth of July Crowd Dines on Lovell's Cuisine

Much of the food at Lake Forest's Fourth of July celebration was provided by Lovell's of Lake Forest Thursday at Deer Path Park.

The Lake Forest restaurant had two tents, plenty of items to choose from and lots of takers.

Jay and Diane Lovell were there themselves overseeing the preparation of food and the rest of the operation. Jay Lovell was an accomplished chef before he started the restaurant with his father, retired astronaut Capt. James Lovell.

Lovell’s features a comprehensive menu of steaks, seafood and poultry, all prepared innovatively; a wine list that has won Wine Spectator's Award of Excellence several times, according to the establishment’s Patch listing.
