The Lake Forest Day parade went off without a hitch on Wednesday.

Lake Forest’s annual salute to America’s veterans—like a second Fourth of July — began with a parade at 10 a.m. and continued with a carnival afterwards.

The carnival included games, rides and burgers. The parade that came before it included local politicians, veterans and children walking around with bags of candy.
